Nigeria, March 09, 2022.- The Cuban ambassador to this country, Clara M. Pulido Escandell, offered an interview to journalists Chiamaka Okafor and Kabiru Yusuf, from the local newspaper Premium Times.
During the interview, the Cuban diplomat addressed elements of the bilateral relations between the two countries, of the historical cultural connections that unite them, about the Cuban health system and its actions to counteract the COVID19 pandemic with its vaccines and vaccine candidates, as well as about the genocidal blockade that the US government maintains against the Caribbean island.
In the framework of bilateral relations, the Cuban ambassador pointed out that they are going through a good time where both countries are interested in deepening cooperation in areas of education, public health, agriculture and biotechnology, it is the latter, she highlighted the interest of institutions Nigerians to participate in the BioHabana2022 event, to be held in April this year in Havana.
She thanked the Nigerian government and African countries in general for the support they have always maintained for the Cuban resolution against the blockade in the United Nations and the rejection within the framework of the African Union. She denounced the measures that the US government maintains against the Island to suffocate it economically and achieve its objectives of overthrowing the Cuban Revolution and its country model.
