Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria signs book of condolences for the passing of former Algerian President Liamine Zeroual

Abuja, April 2, 2026.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmero, signed the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in Abuja, following the passing of former Algerian President Liamine Zeroual.

During the visit, the Cuban diplomat conveyed, on behalf of the people and Government of Cuba, her deepest condolences to the people and Government of Algeria, highlighting Zeroual’s historical legacy as a leader committed to sovereignty, stability, and national development.

She also underscored the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that have historically united Cuba and Algeria, built on mutual respect, solidarity, and a shared commitment to just causes in the international arena.

The Ambassador expressed her recognition of the former President’s distinguished trajectory, emphasizing his contribution to the consolidation of the Algerian State during complex moments in its contemporary history.

The Government of Cuba reiterates its solidarity with the brotherly people of Algeria in this time of mourning and honors the memory of a prominent national leader.
