Oslo, August 14, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, traveled to Arendal to participate in Arendal Week (Arendalsuka), which is held every year in that coastal town to promote the exchange of members of the government, political parties, organizations, companies, media and other relevant actors of Norwegian society, among them and with ordinary people, on a wide range of topics.
Along with several of her colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador attended the event “Global Outlook 2024: The world as it is”, where she listened attentively to the speech given by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway, Espen Barth Eide, on issues of interest on the current international agenda.
The Cuban diplomat also attended the Ambassadors' Roundtable “Global Disruptions: Facing the Challenges. Perspectives from Europe and the Global South”, in which an initial presentation made by the Norwegian Foreign Minister gave rise to an interesting debate that included the participation of the ambassadors of South Africa, India, Peru and the European Union; the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, and the Director General of the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD), Bård Vegar Solhjell.
This last event gave the Ambassador and her colleagues the opportunity to meet and share with the Mayor of Arendal, Robert Cornels Nordli. (Embacuba Norway)
