Oslo, September 22, 2023. On September 19 and 20, the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, responded positively to an invitation extended to the Diplomatic Corps by the Secretary General of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Torgeir Larsen, to carry out a visit to the county of Vestfold and Telemark.
Together with her colleagues from several countries, the Cuban diplomat fulfilled an extensive program that included a tour of Herøya Industrial Park, in particular Yara, a leading crop nutrition company worldwide, and NEL, the world´s first fully automated electrolyser production facility, both spearheading the use of new forms of energy and transportation. The program also included a brief stay in Tønsberg, Norway´s oldest city, located in a region that was a centre of Norway´s Viking era culture , and a visit to Færder National Park.
Throughout the excursion, the Ambassador and the rest of the Heads of Mission had the opportunity to interact with the local authorities of the places visited, headed by their respective mayors. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
