Cuban Ambassador participates in annual meeting of the Swedish-Cuban Friendship Association

Gothenburg, March 15. The Cuban ambassador to Sweden, Alba Soto Pimentel, participated in the annual meeting of the Swedish-Cuban Friendship Association, held in this city.

In an exchange with those present, the Cuban diplomat discussed Cuba's current situation and the challenges it faces in an adverse international context, marked by the intensification of the blockade, the intensified financial persecution by the current US administration, and a media campaign aimed at creating a negative opinion about Cuba's international collaboration, particularly in the health sector.

Notwithstanding the above, Soto Pimentel reaffirmed the firm determination of the Cuban people and government to continue defending our social project and maintaining the social achievements achieved over more than 65 years, while expressing her gratitude for the international solidarity received, particularly from Swedish organizations.

The Ambassador highlighted the positive impact of the donations of medical supplies received at several Cuban hospitals through the "Solidarity Suitcases" initiative, coordinated by representatives of the Swedish-Cuban Friendship Association.

First Secretary David Roblejo also participated in the meeting and exchanged views with those attending.
