Nicosia, Cyprus, May 8, 2026 – After five years of fruitful service at the Romanian diplomatic mission in Nicosia, His Excellency Mr. Sorin-Dan Mihalache, Ambassador of Romania to Cyprus, received heartfelt recognition and respect from the local Foreign Ministry, along with a large group of colleagues accredited to the island, who came to bid him farewell.
Nicosia, Cyprus, May 8, 2026 – After five years of fruitful service at the Romanian diplomatic mission in Nicosia, His Excellency Mr. Sorin-Dan Mihalache received a warm welcome and farewell from the local Foreign Ministry.
“It is an honor to be gathered here, because on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we would like to emphasize our shared gratitude and appreciation for your dedicated service in strengthening bilateral relations between Cyprus and Romania over all these years,” stated the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, speaking on behalf of the Ministry.
This was a deferenced and explicit tribute paid by his closest team at the diplomatic mission, along with the one offered by Cristina Christodoulou, on behalf of the Association of Romanians in Cyprus, for his immeasurable support of the community residing on this island in the eastern Mediterranean.
It was a fitting occasion for the Cuban Ambassador to this capital, Rubén Pino Martínez, to congratulate his counterpart and wish him success both personally and in his new role as the official representative of the aforementioned nation of the Balkan Peninsula.
This was a well-deserved tribute to his professional dedication, which brought him many moments of shared joy and happiness with his colleagues in the diplomatic corps. Who gladly joined us from the Balkan Peninsula.
