The Mayor of the city of Larnaca receives the Cuban ambassador accredited in Cyprus.

Nicosia, Cyprus, May 19, 2026.- The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, was received this morning by the Mayor of the coastal city of Larnaca, Mr. Andreas Vyras, who offered the Caribbean diplomat a warm and cordial welcome at the headquarters of the territorial government of the third largest city on the Mediterranean island, after Nicosia and Limassol.

During the fraternal exchange, the Larnaca governor offered the visitor an overview of the tourist attractions that today identify this city in motion and permanent constructive remodeling, now the capital city of the eponymous district that hosts the country's second port and most important airport.

For his part, Pino Martínez thanked the host official for the opportunity to participate last Sunday in the inauguration of the 2026 Special Olympics of Cyprus, in that coastal city; at the same time, he was able to anticipate new proposals for bilateral events that will help enrich the Cooperation Agreement signed in 2023 between that Cypriot municipality and the Provincial Government of Santiago de Cuba, in the field of cultural and economic cooperation.

Cuban Ambassador Participates in Opening Ceremony of the Cyprus Special Olympics in Larnaca

Larnaca, Cyprus, May 17, 2026. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, attended the opening ceremony of the Cyprus Special Olympics 2026 this Sunday in the coastal city of Larnaca.

Accompanied by the Cypriot National Guard Military Band, the opening ceremony of the Cyprus National Special Games began with a parade and formation of the athletes who will compete from May 17 to 27 in various sports disciplines, coming from all over the island. The ceremony—as is traditional—was blessed by Father Mario Lemoní, representing the metropolitan of Kitio.

The official opening declaration was delivered by Andreas Vyras, Mayor of Larnaca, along with greetings from Maria Vasileiádou, President of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics, and Dr Klea Jatzistefánou Papáellina, Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, representing the President of the Republic of Cyprus.

Cuban ambassador participates in the 37th General Assembly of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber 2026

Nicosia, Cyprus, May 13, 2026. – The Ambassador of Cuba to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, participated this Wednesday in the 37th Annual General Assembly of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC), the most important event of the Cypriot maritime sector, held in Limassol, with the presence of the Board of Directors of the Chamber and businesspeople from the sector across the country.

The inauguration of the event was led by Nikos Christodoulides, President of the Republic of Cyprus, and Annita Demetriou, President of the Cypriot Parliament, whose speeches highlighted the strategic and essential role that Cypriot shipping companies currently play and their impact on the country's economy, in addition to the efforts of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber in its commitment to actively support international efforts aimed at maintaining its excellence and prestige in the region and in achieving sustainable and realistic solutions for the future of global maritime transport.

Nicosia, Cyprus, April 24, 2026. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Neophytos Charalambides, received this Friday the Cuban ambassador accredited in this capital, Mr. Rubén Pino Martínez, who held a fraternal bilateral meeting.

Nicosia, Cyprus, April 20, 2026 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in this capital, Rubén Pino Martínez, along with the diplomatic corps accredited here, participated in a meeting with the head of United Nations Peacekeeping Operations, Mr. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, who recently arrived in Nicosia for a two-day visit to the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP).

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Khassim Diagne, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Cyprus (UNFICYP), who together held discussions with the diplomatic corps accredited in this capital on Monday, April 20.

Cuban Embassy promotes positive exchange between the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and related entities in Cuba

Nicosia, Cyprus, April 18, 2026.- The Cuban embassy in this capital promoted last Thursday, April 16, a positive videoconference exchange between the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and a group of executives from related Cuban entities, during which opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the maritime-port sector were explored.

The meeting led by the Cuban ambassador in Nicosia, Rubén Pino Martínez, facilitated an initial informational exchange between Cuban entities and the Secretary General of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC), Mr. Alexandros Josphides, together with Mr. Sofoklis Chrysostomou, Maritime Manager and member of the board of directors of the aforementioned institution, representing numerous Cypriot shipping companies and sector businesses with proven and strategic performance in the Eastern Mediterranean area.

The President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Receives the Cuban Ambassador in Nicosia

Nicosia, Cyprus, March 11, 2026. The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Cyprus, Her Excellency Mrs. Annita Demetriou, received in a courtesy visit and as his first official meeting, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, after he presented his credentials to the local government on February 20.

The also President of the DISY Party offered a warm and fraternal welcome to the Cuban diplomat at the usual headquarters of the House of Representatives in Nicosia, a meeting in which both parties reiterated their mutual gratitude for attending this scheduled meeting, which aims to deepen and diversify relations between the respective Parliaments and the legislative authorities of both nations.
