Cuban Ambassador Participates in Diplomatic Christmas Concert for Peace at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in Singapore

SINGAPORE, December 7, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Singapore, Lisbet Quesada Luna, participated in the emblematic Diplomatic Christmas Concert, organized annually by the Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Risen, directed by its founder and director, Sir Peter Low, at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in the City-State.

Choral music lovers, diplomats, and people of all ages gathered to listen to more than 60 songs and carols sung in 35 languages. Cuba was represented by a Cuban lullaby in the style of a 20th-century Havana song.

The Cuban diplomat, along with other Ambassadors and High Commissioners from 50 countries, made a pledge of peace during a special segment of the evening by placing her country's flag on a Peace Tree on behalf of their nations. This symbolic gesture represents their nations' commitment to working for world peace. It also represents their prayers and hopes for peace, prosperity, and happiness for their people. After all the decorations were in place and the tree was lit, the choir led the audience in singing "Let There Be Peace on Earth."

The guest of honor for the evening was Ms. Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and National Development. Other guests included the Apostolic Nuncio, the Catholic Church's ambassador to Singapore and Vietnam, Archbishop Marek Zalewski; Lithuania's Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Vidmantas Verbickas; Dr. Hamid Razak, Member of Parliament for the West Coast-Jurong West GRC; Ms. Rachel Ong, Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC; and Singapore's non-resident ambassador to the Vatican, Ms. Janet Ang.

The 55-year-old choir first presented its Christmas concert in the early 1970s, making this its 52nd performance.
