Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. On December 10, coinciding with Human Rights Day, Ambassador Giuvel Orozco Ortega attended the Fireside Chat event with the Right Honorable Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Kitts and Nevis, where he addressed the topic of “Foreign policy as a strategic asset for national transformation.”
The Cuban diplomat told Minister Douglas that Saint Kitts and Nevis can continue to count on Cuba as a friend and that through cooperation in education, health, and other potential areas, Cuba will continue to support the people of our sister Caribbean nation in exercising and enjoying those rights.
The Ambassador also thanked Ms. Kaye Bass, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for her comments on the long-standing friendship with Cuba and the mutual support between the two nations. In her speech, the senior official reported on Cuban cooperation in health, education, and construction, while reiterating Saint Kitts and Nevis' support for the Cuban people's demand to put an end of the U.S. government's economic, financial, and commercial blockade against the Greater Antilles Island.
In May 2025, Cuba and Saint Kitts and Nevis commemorated 30 years of diplomatic relations, a period in which fraternal ties and cooperation have developed and strengthened.
