Cuban ambassador participates in GRULAC visit to the Yishun district

The Cuban ambassador in Singapore, Lisbet Quesada Luna, participated in the visit of the GRULAC Ambassadors in Singapore, to the Yishun South district, at the invitation of the Member of Parliament, Carrie Tan.

The tour of the district was followed by participation in the community's Chinese New Year celebration.

The diplomats were able to appreciate in situ the operation of the People's Association and the volunteer system at the community level, the participation of companies based in the area in community development and its beautification. The participation of its own inhabitants in ensuring the maintenance of the common areas of the HDB buildings (multifamily buildings subsidized by the government) and the surrounding areas, as a complement to the budget provided by the government for community development. Special attention was given to the concept that the government does its job, but the residents, companies and businesses in the district are also part of the environment and have their duties towards it.

Yishun is a planning area and residential town located in the northern region of Singapore, in its northeastern area. It has an area of ​​about 21.24 km2 and ranks 8th, 7th and 20th in terms of size, population and density respectively.

This activity was coordinated between the Embassy of Costa Rica and the Embassy of Cuba in the City-State.
