Kingston, Jamaica, 7 February 2022. The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, paid a courtesy call last Friday, 4 February, on Ambassador Sheila Sealy Monteith, Permanent Secretary and Head of Foreign Service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.
During the meeting, held at the headquarters of Jamaica’s Foreign Ministry, both diplomats shared opinions on issues from the bilateral agenda, including Jamaica's historic support for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government on Cuba. The Jamaican official thanked the cooperation that Cuba has offered her country for decades in areas such as health and education.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of respect and mutual understanding, honouring the positive relations between both Caribbean nations.
