Oslo, November 16, 2022. The president of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting), Masud Gharahkhani, received the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, in a courtesy call.
In a cordial atmosphere, the Ambassador and Mr. Gharahkhani, who is a member of the Storting for the Labor Party, exchanged on the existing potential for developing the relations between both countries in the parliamentary field.
The Cuban diplomat availed herself of the opportunity to offer information on several issues, such as the current legislative activity of the National Assembly of the People´s Power of Cuba to develop the contents of the Constitution approved in 2019; the recent adoption, through a popular referendum, of a new Family Code, and the damage caused by the US blockade against Cuba, among others.
Christian Ghare, head of the Section that deals with America, and Thomas Fraser, advisor for Latin America, from the International Department of the Storting, as well as Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, second secretary of the Embassy, were also present at the meeting. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
