The Bahamas, October 16, 2019. The Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, His Excellency, the Most Honorable Cornelius A. Smith, received at the Government House the ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Ismara M. Vargas Walter, who will soon complete his diplomatic mission in this Caribbean nation.
The occasion was appropriate to exchange on relevant aspects of the diplomatic relation, close to its 45th anniversary. During the dialogue, collaboration in education and health occupied a special place.
The Cuban Ambassador appreciated the traditional support of The Bahamas to the Cuban resolution against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
The meeting was also attended by the First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy, Yusimí Pompa Santos and officials of the Government House.
