Cuban ambassador presents credentials to King of Cambodia

Liurka Rodriguez, the new Cuban ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia, presented her formal credentials to HM Norodom Sihamoni. At the ceremony, the Cambodian monarch extended a greeting to Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and remembered the actions of his father, Norodom Sihanouk, and the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, to create the basis of the historic friendship between the two nations. 

He also recognized Cuba'sachievements in fields such as education and health, and praised as precious its contributions to the training of human resources in the country.

The King also expressed his wish that bilateral ties continue to be strengthened at a time when both nations are about to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in April 2020.For her part, the Cuban ambassador expressed her gratitude for the words of the head of state and the kingdom's solidarity support for the struggles carried out by Cuba.

Cambodia is a Southeast Asian country whose landscape includes low plains, the Mekong delta, mountains and the coast of the Gulf of Thailand, whose capital and most populous city is Nom Pen and has an area of 181.035 km² and an estimated population of some 16 million inhabitants.
