Oslo, November 13, 2025. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Hugo René Ramos Milanés, presented to HM the King Harald V the Letter of Credence accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Kingdom of Norway.
The audience took place in a cordial atmosphere, during which the Cuban diplomat expressed the deep gratitude of the Cuban government and people for Norway's support of the resolution recently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly demanding the end of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade unilaterally imposed by the United States government against the Cuban people, as well as for its rejection of Cuba's inclusion on the arbitrary list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
Ambassador Ramos Milanés also conveyed gratitude for the assistance offered by the Kingdom of Norway in the face of the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in the eastern provinces of Cuba.
Both sides reviewed various topics of bilateral interest, highlighting their commitment to expanding cooperation in diverse areas of common interest.
His Majesty King Harald V wished the Cuban representative success in his mission in Norway and extended his best wishes to Cuba.
Earlier, the Cuban ambassador held fruitful exchanges at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Secretary-General, Torgeir Larsen; the Director of the Section for Latin America and Caribbean, Aslaug Nygard; the Director-General for Protocol, Cultural Relations and Consular Affairs, Vibeke Rysst-Jensen; and the Director of Diplomatic Relations, Henrik Malvik. They discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in various mutually beneficial areas and the strengthening of ties of friendship between the two peoples. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
