Cuban Ambassador Presents Letters of Credence to the Governor General of Saint Lucia

Morne Fortune, May 28, 2025 – In a solemn ceremony at the Government Palace, Ambassador Yenielys Vilma Regueiferos Linares presented to the Governor General of Saint Lucia, Sir Cyril Errol Melchiades Charles, the Letters of Credence accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the sister Caribbean nation.

In his speech, the Governor General denounced the United States blockade against Cuba and affirmed that Saint Lucia will always support Cuba in the fight for its definitive cessation.

Representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs was Mr. Esli Lafeuille, Deputy Permanent Secretary.

Saint Lucia and Cuba established diplomatic relations on August 23, 1979.
