Cuban Ambassador received by Philippine Foreign Secretary on the occasion of the presentation of her Letter of Credence.

Manila, May 15, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández was received by the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, His Excellency Mr. Enrique A. Manalo, on the occasion of her visit to the country.

The two representatives held a fruitful exchange on strengthening bilateral relations.

They also discussed potential areas for exploring cooperation between the Philippines and Cuba in agriculture, health, and education, among others.

In a solemn ceremony held at Malacañang Palace, the Cuban diplomat presented to President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. the Letter of Credence accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of the Philippines.

After this ceremonial moment, a wreath was laid for the national Hero of the Philippines, José Rizal.

The Philippines, a Southeast Asian country, and Cuba established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1946, and have since maintained a positive bilateral relationship based on mutual respect and cooperation.
