Colombo, June 18, 2025. Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, held a meeting at the Cuban Embassy in Colombo with G.V. D. Tilakasiri, President of the Democratic Left Front party and Secretary General of the Joint Committee of Democratic Trade Unions of Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, Tilakasiri reiterated his solidarity with Cuba and discussed bilateral issues of mutual interest.
The Democratic Left Front party is part of the solidarity movement with Cuba in Sri Lanka and has repeatedly issued statements of support and solidarity with Cuba in the face of the hostile policy of the United States government and against the economic, financial, and commercial blockade that the United States government has imposed on the island for more than 60 years, causing countless harm and damage to the Cuban people.
