Three officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), were received at the Cuban Embassy by Ambassador, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.
The visit made to the Cuban Embassy by Mr. Albert Aidoo, Planning Officer; Ms. Juliana Vuu, Training Officer and Suzanette Akuko, Administrative Officer, was aimed at increasing the links between the GNFSR and its Cuban counterpart.
Under their request about the history of Cuba, the Cuban Ambassador explained the historic process that ended in 1st January, 1959, and how the economic and social transformations started since those moments were the cause of the hostility of the U.S against Cuba. The visitors were also updated on effects of the blockade to the Cuban people. In the meeting were emphasized the historic links between Ghana and Cuba, especially in the formation of the Ghanaian professionals, including current high ranked chief of the Fire Service.
In the meeting also participated the First Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, Julio César Sánchez.
