Oslo, October 1, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, held a friendly meeting with Odd-Jarl Gerhardsen, editor-in-chief of Friheten, the newspaper of the Communist Party of Norway (NKP), just days before his departure for Havana to participate in the Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Left-Wing Parties and Movements, which will take place from October 15 to 17.
Odd-Jarl Gerhardsen expressed that he is traveling to Cuba with renewed interest and high expectations after having participated in the two previous editions of that event, which is convened by the magazine "Cuba Socialista," the theoretical and political organ of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), with the co-sponsorship of the Ñico López University of the Party, the Casa de las Américas, the Cuban chapter of the Network in Defense of Humanity, and Granma and Juventud Rebelde newspaper.
Representing the NKP, Gerhardsen will also take part at the First Granma Rebelde Festival, which, convened by the Communist Party of Cuba and the Young Communist League, will take place in the Cuban capital from October 17 to 20, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Granma and Juventud Rebelde newspapers by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
