Cuban Ambassador receives President of the Palestine-Cuba Friendship Association

Cairo, April 7, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, received at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in this capital, Mr. Mohamed Abu Atwan, President of the Palestine-Cuba Friendship Association.

During the fraternal meeting, they exchanged views on the terrible situation in Palestine today and Israel's total disrespect for international legality and international humanitarian law.

The diplomat from the Greater Antilles ratified Cuba's position of unconditional support to the just Palestinian cause and the absolute condemnation of the genocide committed by the Occupying Power against Gaza and the West Bank.

He also updated the visitor on the situation in Cuba and the complex economic scenario the island is going through due to the unprecedented tightening of the blockade and the hostility of the U.S. government. Pellicer Moraga made specific reference to the new measures implemented against Cuba's medical cooperation with the world, aimed at depriving our country of an important source of income for the functioning of the Cuban health system.

For his part, Abu Atwan expressed his gratitude for Cuba's historic position in support of Palestine and the countless actions carried out in recent months to denounce Israel's crimes against its people. He also highlighted the presence of President Miguel Díaz-Canel and other senior Cuban leaders in several of the events and marches organized on the island.

Atwan is an architect by profession and one of the hundreds of Palestinians who have graduated in Cuba in the more than 40 years of collaboration between the two countries. (Embacuba Egipto)
