Cuban Ambassador to Seychelles attends Constitution Day Celebration

Victoria, Seychelles._ June is the month of national pride, unity and celebration in Seychelles.

The first took place this Tuesday, June 18th, with the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of its Constitution, with the traditional flag-raising ceremonies on the three most populated islands of the archipelago: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. The Cuban Ambassador attended the first flag raising ceremony which took place on the main island of Mahe, at the “Lavwa Lanasyon” monument.

In attendance were the President of Seychelles, Wavel Ramkalawan, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Roger Mancienne, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Rony Govinden, and other senior government officials and members of the diplomatic corps.

These events celebrate the day the nation adopted the Constitution of the Third Republic of Seychelles, when in 1993 the island nation took a new direction guided by fundamental principles essential to its development as a sovereign and democratic state.

The next and main event will be Independence Day on June 29, when the Military Parade will be held with participants from the Seychelles Defense Forces and guest delegations from Mauritius, India, France and the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by a military band.
