Colombo, February 24th 2026, H. E. Patricia Lázara Pego Guerra, Ambassador of Cuba to Sri Lanka paid a Courtesy Call to Honorable Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, following the presentation of her Credentials.
During the meeting the Minister conveyed his best wishes to the Ambassador for a successful and productive tenure in Sri Lanka.
The Ambassador expressed Cuban gratitude to Sri Lanka government for its permanent support in the struggle against the United States blockade at the General Assembly of the United Nations.
They reaffirmed the longstanding and cordial relations between Sri Lanka and Cuba and exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
