Kingston, Jamaica, 15 January 2021.- Senator Kamina Johnson-Smith, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, received this morning the Ambassador of Cuba in that Caribbean nation, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.
The meeting, held in a cordial, respectful atmosphere, served to exchange opinions on the state of bilateral relations between the two neighbouring nations.
Both parties recognized the positive level of the bonds joining Cuba and Jamaica; the significant cooperation that the Greatest Island in the Antilles provides to the sister Caribbean nation in the sectors of health and education; and the mutual support in regional and international forums, including the position of rejection of the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the US government on Cuba.
