Cuban Ambassador talks with political leader of Ghana

The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro L. Despaigne González held a cordial conversation with Mr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, who has been in the last two general elections the Progressive People´s Party's presidential candidate (PPP). The meeting took place during a cultural activity carried out in the residence of the Ambassador of France to Ghana. 

Mr. Paa Kwesi Nduom recalled his trip to Cuba – according to his words in 2004 - and the sites of interest he had the opportunity to visit. He also said the possibility to make another visit to Cuba in the medium term.

Mr. Paa Kwesi Nduom is a traditional Ghanaian politician. During the John Kufuor presidency (2001-2009), despite not being a member of the new Patriotic Party (NPP) he served as Minister of Energy, Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission and as Minister for Public Sector Reform. In December 2007 he was nominated by the Convention People´s Party (CPP) to contest the December 2008 presidential elections. In January 2012 he formed the PPP to participate in the elections of that year. He also contested the 2016 presidential election obtaining the third place among the contenders with 1% of the valid votes.
