Cuban ambassador to Thailand receives Cuban boxing team

Cuban Ambassador to Thailand, Hector Conde Almeida, welcomed the Cuban boxing team that will compete in the 2017 International Boxing Tournament to be held in Bangkok from 4 to 8 April. In addition to Cuba, the following 16 nations with a long tradition in this sport will participate in the event: Australia, Qatar, China, South Korea, the Philippines, India, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. The Cuban team is made up of 7 athletes and two coaches. Cuba and Thailand maintain a long and fruitful cooperation in the field of boxing, under which systematic competitions are held and training activities are carried out by Cuban experts in the Asian nation. It is expected that two teams from Thailand, 7 boxers each, will participate next May in the contest "Cordoba Cardin" in Cuba.
