Cuban Ambassador thanks the solidarity of the Ghanaian people in 2016

The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, received a representation of the Cuban Solidarity Campaign with the objective to thank of all them for the support to the Cuban people during 2016.

The Cuban Ambassador ratified the historic Cuban´s commitments towards the Ghanaian people and emphasized how in the 2016, our friends in Ghana celebrated the 90 birthday of Fidel Castro, have also participated in his farewell; as well as they have kept denouncing the U.S blockade against the Cuban people.

In the political and cultural activity held at the Cuban Ambassador´s Residence, different generations of the Ghanaian friends expressed their solidarity to Cuba and ratified the commitment to continue fighting for the lifting of the blockade.

Among those in the political-cultural activity were the Vice-president of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Alexander Nyarko Opoku, and a group of members of the All African People's Revolutionary Party (A-APRP), as Albie Walls and Nana Yaa Gyanfuah. Two professors of the University of Ghana, Dr. Joanna Boampong and Dr. Maïmouna Sankhé, also participated.

The new generations of Ghanaian friends of Cuba were in the Ambassador´s Residence lead by the Secretary of the International Relations of the National Union of Students of Ghana (NUGS), Isaac Nyame Mensah, and the President of University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council (SRC), Ms. Esinam Afi Seade.

The members of Cuban Solidarity Campaign and the staff of the Cuban Embassy dancing at the rhythms of the Cuban music, and ratified the strong cultural ties between our two countries.
