The Ambassador of Cuba to Grenada, Yadirys Echenique Paz, delivered words of gratitude during the second solidarity breakfast with the Greater of the Antilles, held in Saint David.
The gathering brought together institutional representatives, community leaders, and members of the Citizens for Cuba campaign, who reaffirmed their support for the Caribbean nation amid current difficulties. The activity was consolidated as a space for dialogue and reaffirmation of the historic ties between Cuba and Grenada.
On the occasion, the Ambassador spoke about the situation faced today by the Cuban people as a result of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States. She noted that the restrictions directly affect the daily lives of Cuban families, limiting access to essential resources and hindering development projects.
In her remarks, she emphasized that despite these limitations, Cuba remains steadfast in its vocation for international cooperation. She recalled that the Island has sent doctors, teachers, and specialists to various countries, even amid its own shortages, as a demonstration of a commitment that transcends borders.
For their part, several participants expressed their support for Cuba and reiterated the importance of sustaining Caribbean solidarity in the face of common challenges.
