Díli, December 13, 2026. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, First Vice Minister Milena da Costa Rangel, along with her team, held a productive meeting with Cuban diplomat Alina Aldama.
During the meeting, the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission provided an update on the escalating aggression by the U.S. government against the Cuban people, which has lasted for more than 60 years and has intensified since the Executive Order signed by President Donald Trump and its consequences. This meeting also provided an opportunity to review multilateral and cooperation issues.
In the case of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Timorese, she expressed her gratitude for the updated information provided, requested details on specific points, and pledged to forward further information to Foreign Minister Bendito dos Santos Freitas. She reiterated Cuba's support for the U.S. government's blockade of the Cuban people, as well as the historic friendship and solidarity between the two nations.
