The Cuban Ambassador, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, conveyed the sympathies of the Cuban people to the Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on the occasion of the passed away of his mother, the Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II.
During the greeting, the Ambassador exchanged with the King about the visit made to Cuba in 1986 by his predecessor, Otumfuo Nana Opoku Ware II. The current king thanked the condolences received and expressed his desire to also visit Cuba.
The meeting with the monarch took place in the Manhyia Palace, within the framework of the funeral ceremony conducted in the city of Kumasi on the occasion of the death of the Queen mother at the age of 111 years.
