The Ambassador of Cuba in Türkiye, Alejandro Diaz Palacios attended the panel: “Parliamentary Diplomacy in Global Governance” in the framework of the Diplomatic Forum Antalya 2025; with the participation of the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the TGNA Fuat Oktay.
The panel discussed the challenges we face in the international arena and the threat to global stability as we find ourselves in a period of heightened geopolitical tensions, deepening economic inequalities, technological revolutions, trade wars and protectionism. In addition, global health crises, illegal migration and climate change are major challenges that will need to be addressed in the coming years.
It was emphasized that existing international mechanisms are insufficient to deal with these problems, that an approach that goes beyond traditional diplomatic methods is needed and that parliamentary diplomacy is an important tool in this context.
