Copenhagen, November 20, 2022. The Cuban ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, visited the Asger John Museum, in the city of Silkeborg.
The Cuban diplomat was received by the Director of the cultural institution, Jacob Thage, who explained to him during the tour, the works housed in the installation of the famous Danish painter, where some paintings by Wilfredo Lam are exhibited at the same time.
Thage referred to the cultural exchange with our country, to the work to carry out a 3D sample that will mainly collect the mural paintings made by the Danish artist in Cuba, which were restored with the support of various Danish institutions in the year 2009.
Asger Jorn visited Cuba in 1968, invited by the Cuban painter Wilfredo Lam to participate in the Culture Congress. The Scandinavian artist left his legacy through 11 mural paintings that occupy more than 87 square meters in the Office of Historical Affairs of the Council of State in Havana, founded by the heroine Celia Sánchez. These murals are considered a work of art of exceptional value.
