Cuban Ambassador visits Cocoa Processing Company in Ghana

The Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, visited the Cocoa Processing Company Ltd. located in the city of Tema, in the Greater Accra region of Ghana, where he was received by the Board of Directors, headed by the Managing Director, Mr. Nana Agyenim Boateng.

As part of the visit, the Cuban diplomat received an explanation about the creation of the Company in 1965 and toured some of its areas.

The Ambassador was informed that the Company has a current production with a reach of some 300 million people in the world. In addition, he learned that a group of current executives of that Company received training courses in Cuba in 2008, knowledge that they immediately incorporated into the production process of the Company, which he was able to verify through a practical demonstration carried out in the Chocolate chip making process.

Ghana is the world's second largest cocoa producer in the world. The country's cocoa export began in 1891.
