Kingston, Jamaica, 8 February 2019. Today former Prime Minister of Jamaica, the Most Honourable Percival James Patterson, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Caribbean nation, H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, an occasion that was conducive to exchange on topics of interest, in an environment marked by cordiality, respect and friendship.
The Jamaican politician and intellectual thanked the Cuban diplomat for the generous collaboration that the Cuba has held for many years in fields such as Health, Education and Culture, and praised the Cuban diplomacy's commitment to the principles of solidarity, respect for the sovereignty and independence of States. According to Mr. Patterson, that is the "secret" of the prestige enjoyed by Cuba in Jamaica and the excellent relations between both peoples and Governments.
With the energy and lucidity that characterizes him, the former Jamaican Prime Minister recalled moments of his life related to Cuba, especially his meetings with Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, collected in his recently published book "My Political Journey".
