Cuban ambassador visits Kenya Minister for Health

The Cabinet Secretary for Health Hon. Adel Duale welcomed Her Excellency, the Ambassador of Cuba, Inés Fors Fernández, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Health of Kenya.

The deliberations touched on the cordial diplomatic ties between Kenya and Cuba that date back three decades, with immense benefits to both countries and their people.

Cuban medical specialists, deployed in Kenya in 2017, helped support and transform the healthcare system, both through direct labour in hospitals and vital skills transfer.

Cuba has vast experience in the area of Health. The Caribbean nation maintains historic bilateral cooperation agreements with African, Latin American and Caribbean countries. More than 40,000 health professionals from 149 countries have been trained in undergraduate modalities, medicine, stomatology, nursing, health technology and postgraduate courses in more than 40 specialties, in a safe environment and in a constant link between theory and practice.
