Banjul, June 13, 2018.- The Ambassador of Cuba in Banjul, Lázaro Herrera Martínez, visited the University of The Gambia where he was received by Professor Dr. Faqir Muhammad Anjum, Rector of the high school, with whom he supported a fruitful exchange.
On that occasion, the Cuban visitor gave a broad explanation about the Cuban educational system, its gratuitous nature as a right of the people, as well as the different centers that make up the higher education system on the island. He also expressed the willingness of the Cuban Embassy to contribute to the promotion of exchange and collaboration between the University of Gambia and Cuban universities, especially the prestigious University of Havana.
On the other hand, Dr. Faqir Muhammad Anjum, showed interest in strengthening the bonds of collaboration in the field of higher education with the island, whose educational and scientific level he highly valued. Dr. Ousman Nyan, Dean of the School of Medicine and Associated Sciences, as well as other members of the campus management were present at the meeting.
