Wellington – Cuban Ambassador, Mario Alzugaray welcomed the High Commissioner of the Cook Islands, Her Excellency Elizabeth Wright-Koteka, as part of a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission.
During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged about bilateral relations and the will of both countries to strengthen them. They also discussed other topics of common interest such as climate change and medical cooperation of Cuba in the Pacific region.
The Cuban diplomat reaffirmed the importance that Cuba attaches to ties with the Pacific countries, with which it shares the challenges faced by small islands development nations.
