On July 7, the Sprint Triathlon Regional Development World Cup took place in Barbados.
The young Marcos Alejandro Fernández González, athlete of the Cuban National Team, at 19 years old is the 2024 runner-up national champion in the Sprint distance.
After having achieved first place in this international development competition, Bridgetown 2024, the team of Cuban collaborators who work as coaches in Barbados and the members of the Cuban diplomatic mission in this country, we are proud of this award.
Behind this victory is not only the effort and tenacity of this young athlete, but also the perseverance of his coach Diosele Fernández Acanda, who proudly appreciates the results, as well as many other people in charge of organizing this event in Barbados, among the that stands out José Antonio Delgado Bandera, a Cuban athlete who works as a coach of this sport in Barbados.
Once again, a Cuban athlete raises the name of Cuba in a world sporting event.
