Cuban citizens abroad will have the possibility to participate in the debate on the Project of the new Constitution. The foregoing was made known in statements to the press by Ernesto Soberón, Director of Consular Affairs and of Cuban Residents Abroad, of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, on August 3, 2018.-
This participation, unprecedented in the history of the Revolution, confirms the will of the Cuban government to have the opinions of all its nationals abroad in the preparation of the new Constitution. In this way, the possibility of contributing to the development of a Cuban socialist, humanist, internationalist, democratic and solidary society, with everyone and for the good of all, as proclaimed by our National Hero José Martí is offered.
Likewise, it constitutes a convincing proof of the continuity of the sovereign policy of continuing to strengthen the links between the Revolution and Cubans residing abroad.
In his declarations, Soberón informed that in order to facilitate participation in the debate, a section will be enabled on the "Nation and Emigration" website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX), through which the Project of Constitution and an online form that will allow Cubans living abroad to transfer their proposals for modifications or comments to the Project.
He said that this section will be available from the first week of September, so that interested parties have enough time to translate their opinions. (Cubaminrex)
