Grenada’s capital was the setting for the commemoration of the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Grenada. The event was attended by representatives of the Cuban community residing in the country, who joined local authorities and organizations in sharing the significance of this date for both Caribbean peoples.
During the ceremony, Juan Lemus Cordero, a Cuban resident in Grenada, stated: “For us it is vital that Cuba and Grenada maintain and deepen their relations, because they represent an example of solidarity and brotherhood in the region.” His words reflected the sentiments of many Cubans living in Grenada who value the importance of these historic ties.
Meanwhile, Isnelvis Encina Quesada, another Cuban resident in Grenada, emphasized that the continuity of bilateral relations is a guarantee of mutual support in times of difficulty. She noted that for the Cuban community in Grenada it is essential that both countries strengthen their bonds, as this opens new opportunities for cooperation and development at both institutional and individual levels.
The active presence of the Cuban community in the celebration of the anniversary of diplomatic relations with Grenada reaffirmed their connection to the homeland and their willingness to contribute to strengthening the ties of unity and collaboration between the two countries.
