Cuban community residing in Jamaica welcomes Ambassador-designated

Kingston, 12 January 2026. On the afternoon of 9 January, representatives of the Cuban community residing in Jamaica, including the younger generations, gave a warm welcome to Ambassador-designate Tania López Larroque.

During the exchange, members of the Association of Cuban Residents ‘Antonio Maceo’ reviewed the main activities developed during 2025, as well as the challenges facing the organisation this year. They also reaffirmed the importance of continuing the differentiated work with children and young descendants.

For her part, the Cuban diplomat referred to the main changes in consular and immigration procedures adopted in recent years for the benefit of the Cuban community living abroad. She also highlighted the relevance of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz's ideals on the links between ‘Nation and Emigration’.

As part of the activity, those present enjoyed Cuban music sung by our compatriot Meliset Rodriguez.
