Cuban Consulate in Malaysia participates in the celebration of Spanish Language Day

Kuala Lumpur, May 14, 2025. The Cuban Consulate participated in the celebration of Spanish Language Day, held jointly by the Spanish-speaking diplomatic missions accredited to Malaysia.

The event was an opportunity to showcase Cuban culture. On this occasion, the work of Dulce María Loynaz, Cuban writer and poet, winner of the Miguel de Cervantes Prize in 1992, was discussed.

The Cuban Consul, Octavio J. Rodríguez García, recited Loynaz's poem "Tiempo" for the audience, whose verses begin: The kiss I didn't give you has become a star inside me... Who could turn it—and on your mouth...—again, a kiss!

The event also featured other artistic performances in Spanish language, including the reading of children's stories, Ibero-American songs, and dances.
