A Cuban delegation attends the 9th “Our Ocean” Conference held in Athens, capital of the Hellenic Republic, on April 15 to 17, 2024.
The event's objectives are to review the commitments made since the first meeting held in 2014, until last year in the Republic of Panama.
The debates are intended to include an intense exchange of experiences on the six areas of action to address issues such as: loss of biodiversity, climate change, unsustainable fishing, marine pollution, especially from plastics, and unsustainable maritime transport. The meeting also plans to establish new strategies, solutions and projects that will reaffirm commitments to the transition towards a new balance between economic development, social cohesion and sustainability.
The Cuban delegation attends with the objective of demonstrating that all the decisions of this conference, aimed at saving our oceans and their ecosystems, will have the full support of the Republic of Cuba
