Cuban delegation to lay a wreath to the victims of terrorism.

On November 25, the day marking the first anniversary of the passage to the immortality of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, who inaugurated the monument to the victims of terrorism in his visit to Barbados in 1998, the delegation partisan and Cuban academic presided over by Dr. José Ramón Balaguer, Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and integrated by Idalmis Brooks of the Department of International Relations, and the professors of the University of Havana Dr. Francisca López, President of the José Martí and Fidel Castro Chairs, and Dr. Jaqueline Laguardia, of the Norman Girvan Chair, deposited a floral offering in remembrance of the martyrs of terrorist sabotage to the Cubana de Aviación airplane, on October 6, 1976 off the coasts of Barbados.

Accompanied by the Ambassador and the Consul, who explained details of the horrendous crime, the members of the delegation that visits the country to attend the II Colloquium on the Fidel Legacy organised by the UWI Cave Hill Campus, central activity of the celebrations for the 45 Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations Cuba-Barbados and CARICOM-Cuba, they left the testimony of their tribute to the 73 civilians killed, 58 of whom were Cubans. The occasion served to remember that this execrable attack against a commercial airplane in full flight was used for the first time as a political weapon of the empire and sealed the union between the Caribbean nations while being at the same time the first act of the terrorist scourge extended towards this part from the Caribbean.
