Kingston, 7 November 2023. A Cuban delegation, led by representatives of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) intervened in the Caribbean Regional Consultation on Integrated Financing for International Environmental Instruments. The event was supported by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Secretariats of the Cartagena Convention, CARICOM and regional development banks.
The delegation of the Largest of the Antilles presented the national experience in the mobilisation of national financial resources for the work in the Conventions on Biodiversity, Desertification and Oceans; as well as the actions framed in the Task Life on Climate Change.
The Caribbean regional meeting was a propitious scenario to denounce the illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba for more than 60 years.
