Oslo, October 15, 2024. From October 3 to 12, a Cuban delegation made a visit to Norway, within the framework of the cooperation project “Production of marine fish fry in Cuba”.
The delegation was made up of Marisela Hernández Ceballos, administrative deputy director; Bárbaro Jaime Ceballos, deputy director for Aquaculture, and Eduardo Raúl Flores Gutiérrez, head of the project by the Cuban side, all of them from the Cuban Center for Fisheries Research (CIP). They were accompanied by Yudmila Alonso Moriche, assistant director of Instruction in the “Andrés González Lines” Maritime Fisheries Institute, and Dalay Buides Ponce, desk officer at the Division of International Cooperation that Cuba Receives, of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.
As part of the program of activities, the Cuban delegation took part in a meeting of the project's steering committee, which included the Norwegian counterparts from the Institute of Marine Research. The exchange held in that framework allowed them to jointly review the progress of the project implementation process and the actions to be undertaken from now on, including those for the full operation of the fish hatchery built at the Experimental Station for Marine Fish Farming located in Mariel, in the Cuban province of Artemisa.
The members of the Cuban delegation also had the opportunity to visit production, scientific and educational facilities linked to marine aquaculture in Bergen and Austevoll. (Embacuba Norway)
