Wellington, July 17th, 2019. The third secretary, Saimin Fis Abad, participated in a conference given by a panel of experts from Victoria University, the Institute of Small and Micro States (ISMS) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Fiji. The event was organized by the Council for the Caribbean, an entity whose main objective is the promotion of links between the member countries of that region and New Zealand.
Within the framework of this presentation, the experts pointed to tourism, the creation of an internationally competitive commercial environment and the threats of climate change, among the most important challenges shared by both regions.
Cuba remains committed to continue promoting cooperation with the Small Island States of both regions, as well as promoting exchanges on issues related to climate change and disaster prevention. (Embacuba NZ).
