Cuban diplomats attend groundbreaking ceremony for new Grenadian hospital

Cuba's ambassador to Grenada, Yadirys Echenique Paz, and the Cuban consul in that country, Ariel Pazos Ortiz, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Grenadian hospital, associated with Project Polaris. The event took place in Calivigny, St. George, and brought together government officials, diplomatic representatives, and international partners.

During the ceremony, it was highlighted that the hospital will have 250 beds and will be part of an 84-acre medical city, designed according to sustainability and climate resilience criteria. The presence of the Cuban diplomats reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to regional cooperation and to strengthening projects that directly benefit the people of the Caribbean.

The start of this construction marks a milestone in the transformation of Granada's healthcare system, and the hospital is expected to be completed in 2029. Cuba's participation in the event symbolizes its willingness to support its sister nation in initiatives that promote social welfare and Caribbean integration.
