Cuban diplomats hold an exchange with authorities of the Greek University of the Mediterranean in Crete.

Crete, January 31. The Cuban ambassador to Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina and the counselor José Oriol Marrero Martínez held a fruitful exchange with the Rector of the Greek University of the Mediterranean, Mr. Nikos Katcharakis, and with Vice Chancellors and officials from the Department of International Relations of that prestigious academic institution.
At the meeting, the Cuban diplomats explained the situation in Cuba, the effects and tightening of the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba; the confrontation with the COVID pandemic, Cuban vaccines, and other aspects of interest on Cuban national reality, and the characteristics of the Cuban university system.
The Greek university leaders expressed their interest in cooperating with Cuban universities in various aspects of mutual interest, which will be channeled by the Cuban representatives with the corresponding counterparts on the Caribbean island.
The Cuban diplomats were in Crete to participate in the event organized by the Greek University of the Mediterranean, the TOPOS publishing house and the friend of Cuba Manolis Vrithias, for the presentation of the book by the counselor Marrero Martinez José Martí and "the Greek", which is an expression of the Cuban national hero's admiration for the Greek people, published in Greek by the prestigious TOPOS publishing house, and dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the independence of Greece.
