Cuban diplomats in Malaysia pay tribute to Dr Mario García Inchaústegui

Kuala Lumpur, December 4 - The staff of the Cuban embassy in Malaysia paid tribute to the Cuban diplomat Dr. Mario García Inchaústegui, who lost his life 41 years ago in a plane crash in this country, after the ship in which he was traveling was kidnapped.

In simple ceremony, a wreath was placed in the memorial of Tanjung Kupang where a monument to the 100 people who perished in the wreck is erected, and the ambassador Ibete Fernández Hernández, in conversation with the press there, offered details of the fruitful work developed by Dr. Inchaústegui since 1959 in defense of the principles of the Cuban Revolution.

Inchaústegui, was the first ambassador of Cuba in Malaysia since they established relationships in 1976 and served as ambassador to Japan at the time of his death. Along with other Cuban diplomats, he is considered a martyr of the foreign service.
